Richard Bland continued his sensational form with second place at the Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic.
He poured in a 20-foot putt for birdie on the last to force a play-off with Viktor Hovland and just came up short on the extra hole.
Another impressive display in such a strong field was enough to move Richard up to a career high of 53rd in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Richard, an inspirational winner for the first time at last year's British Masters, is now targeting the world's top 50 and a place at The Masters.
He said: "If I could play at Augusta it would be a dream come true. Of course the goal now is to reach the top 50 and you want to get as high as you can."
Nino Bertasio and Ashun Wu shared 30th at the Emirates Golf Club, with Matt Wallace 35th.
