Biography
Tommy Fleetwood was number one in the World Amateur Rankings upon turning professional in 2010 and became the youngest ever winner of the Challenge Tour Rankings in 2011.
The Englishman clinched his maiden professional title, the Kazakhstan Open, in September of that year to secure his 2012 European Tour card.
After several encouraging results, Fleetwood demonstrated admirable courage and composure to retain his Tour card at his final tournament of the season, the SA Open Championship. Requiring a strong finish at Serengeti Golf and Wildlife Estate, Fleetwood closed with a 69 to tie for sixth and retain his place on the Race to Dubai.
The 23-year-old went from strength to strength and enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2013, claiming four top-ten finishes and, crucially, his maiden European Tour title at the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles, where he once again displayed his impressive temperament to triumph via a play-off.
After finishing 26th in the Race to Dubai, Fleetwood made a fine start to 2014, tying for third at the Volvo Golf Champions at Durban Country Club in South Africa.
