Joost is one of the most exciting golfers to emerge from the Netherlands.
He announced his arrival with victories at the Dutch National Open in 2004 and the German and Spanish Amateur Open titles in 2005, before inspiring his country to a surprise victory at the Eisenhower Trophy in 2006.
Joost won two Challenge Tour titles, the A.G.F. Allianz Golf Open de Toulouse and Vodafone Challenge, in his first six events in 2007, en route to finishing sixth in the rankings, which secured his European Tour card for 2008.
The Dutchman made a strong start to his rookie European Tour season, finishing fourth at the Alfred Dunhill Championship and fifth in the Enjoy Jakarta Astro Indonesian Open, before his campaign was hampered by a wrist injury.
After receiving a medical exemption for the first 11 events of 2009, Joost steadily began to return to form, which culminated in his breakthrough season in 2011, where he achieved claimed his maiden European Tour title at the Iskandar Johor Open in Malaysia with a winning score of 15 under par.
Joost enjoyed a fantastic 2013, clinching his second Tour title at the Lyoness Open in June before triumphing on home soil at the KLM Open three months later.
After winning four out of five matches as Continental Europe recorded a 15-13 victory over Great Britain & Ireland in the Seve Trophy, Joost impressed at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, not dropping a shot in his last 46 holes en route to finishing fourth and, in the process, securing a then career-best of 12th in the Race to Dubai.
He went one better in 2014, finishing in 11th spot in the Race to Dubai after another consistent season.
Joost secured a fourth European Tour win of his career with victory at the Wales Open and had six other top-five finishes, as well as finishing tied for the ninth in the DP World Tour Championship at the end of the season.
