Jos Buttler set his sights on becoming an international cricketer after watching India's batsmen enjoy themselves against Sri Lanka in the 1999 World Cup at Taunton. He has since developed into a highly-rated batsman-wicketkeeper.
He scored a determined 30 on his first class debut for Somerset against Lancashire in 2009 before shooting to prominence the following season, where his quick-footed aggressive batting helped him to 440 runs at 55.00 in the CB40.
Jos played a key role in Somerset's run to Twenty20 Finals Day in 2010 and 2011, and, in the same year, impressed in the CB40 final when he made 86 runs from 72 balls in defeat to Surrey.
He has been a fixture in the England T20 side since making his international debut against India in September 2011. He enjoyed a successful tour with England Lions in Sri Lanka in early 2012, making 262 runs at 87.33, before being given his ODI debut against Pakistan in the UAE in February of that year. His breakthrough innings for the senior side came in the T20 against South Africa at Edgbaston that September, when he blasted 32 runs off ten balls.
Jos was given the wicketkeeping gloves for the tour of India in late 2012 and again for the tour of New Zealand in early 2013. He further established himself in the international arena when he hit his maiden international half-century in the second T20 against New Zealand in Hamilton.
He further cemented his burgeoning repuatation in June 2013, producing a wonderful cameo - reaching 47 from just 16 balls - to inspire England to a 34-run victory in their final one-day international against New Zealand at Trent Bridge.
In May 2014, Jos set the record for England's fastest ever ODI century from just 61 balls against Sri Lanka, beating Kevin Pietersen's former record of 69 balls.
Jos has gone on to firmly establish himself on the international stage, scoring 85 in his first innings and taking six catches on his debut in the third Test against India in July 2014.
He made 70 in the following Test before going on to tour Sri Lanka and feature at the World Cup in Australia.
Against New Zealand in June 2015, Jos hit the second fastest ODI hundred ever for England from just 66 balls (final score of 129) leading to England's highest ever total of 408-9.
Jos went on to play a key role in England regaining The Ashes against Australia.
In August, he was part of a Lancashire Lightning side that beat Northants to win the NatWest T20 Blast final.
